Challenges:

  • Many users are part-time employees who couldn't remember steps, codes, etc to use SAP
  • Over 1,110 emails and 840 phone calls to Support in just the first several months of SAP implementation
  • Retail payroll constraints; needed back office team to be more efficient


Solution:

  • Created launch pad for users to see push buttons for commonly used transactions eliminating need to memorize t-codes
  • Create transfer (ME21N/ZMIGO), 16 fields to populate on multiple screens in native SAP down to ONE screen with GuiXT
  • Scrapping (ZMIGO), 15 steps in native SAP down to 6
  • Display article (MM43), 10 screens, dozens of fields, jumping back and forth in native SAP, down to two screens with GuiXT
  • Meet the needs of various user groups with different requirements


Results:

  • Savings of 26,000 hours/year throughout stores
  • Training used to take about 22 hours per person, now at most 3 hours
  • More job satisfaction, drastic reduction in errors
  • On a scale of 1 to 7, with 7 being very satisfied, 85% of users ranked at 5-7
  • Project was developed and rolled out to stores within six months!
  • Developers came from business side - one even got promoted after results of GuiXT implementation
