Challenges:

  • Each individual at the call center had to navigate to at least 3 tabs and 4 different screens to create a PM notification.
  • To create a PM notification with a work order, the individuals had to navigate through a popup screen into IW31.
  • Creation of PM notification was tedious, too time consuming, and error prone.


Solution:

  • Aggregated tabs, screens, and created an intuitive interface with radio buttons to create a work order with one click.
  • Only needed tabs and screens are shown, creating a simplified user-friendly display and improved usability.
  • Default values were set to input fields that were always filled with the same values, and unwanted fields were deleted. In order to simplify the process more, the long text fields were also brought forward to the Notification tab.


Results:

  • Cut transaction times by 85%
  • Reduced errors and frustration that came with a complicated work order process
  • Input fields that always used the same values were automatically filled to reduce time and errors
  • Increased user satisfaction, productivity, and efficiency
